Like too many people, I find myself starting 2026 unemployed. While the Machine Thinking content is really fun and where my heart is it doesn’t really generate a lot of money. My industry is going through some tough times with lots of layoffs so until I can find employment again, I’m looking for other kinds of work to help keep the lights on. Who knows, maybe something will connect and I’ll transition into something new!
Here’s a lit of some of the skills that might be of help to others:
- CAD (Fusion in particular, though I have used SolidWorks in the past)
- Animation/Visualizations (Blender)
- Video Editing (Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere)
- 3D printing/prototyping
- Programming (Python, shell)
- Deep UNIX knowledge
- Machining (Lathe, Mill – I’m a homeshop guy though and not a pro)
- I have many years of experience managing large projects and programs for big companies
- What else do you need help with?
I did make a small showreel of some of the CAD/Blender animations that I’ve done:
In my usual day job, I have managed technical teams for tech companies after many years of being the hands on technical guy. I have a lot of experience managing world wide DevOps and SRE teams both in the cloud and datacenters. If you need help with that, please reach out and I can give you a copy of my resume.
If you there’s something I could help you with, please get in touch! I’d love to help you with your project!
You can reach me via my Contact Page. If you want to send me a couple bucks via Patreon, that’s appreciated, too, though I’d love to find actual work where possible!
Let’s talk!
